Go J-Hawks

Last night I had the opportunity to watch one of the greatest NCAA Mens Basketball Championship games in history. Kansas was victorious in a 75-68 routing of Memphis in overtime….yet a bigger story went unnoticed outside the arena where a group of protesters criticized the NCAA of exploiting young black athletes for money.

As a former college athlete, I always felt that the NCAA was more concerned with making money than anything else…I just made sure that I took advantage of my scholarship (got 2 degrees) just like the NCAA took advantage of my basketball skills….but something ain’t right when the NCAA makes hundreds of millions of dollars and the coaches sign multi-million dollar contract while the players don’t get anything………so the question is….”Who’s taking advantage of who”

Let me know what you think.

Yo its simple. It all comes down to money because the final four generates billions and if it didn’t we wouldn’t see it on tv.

Those billions are broken up amongst everybody except the players, who in most cases. happen to be black.

I don’t believe in coincidences and the ncaa is exploiting black kids.

The kids get a free education and a chance to compete to play on the world’s biggest stage. They get recognition, and just based off of their names, they could become wealthy in their hometowns. None of the players pay for marketing, or plane tickets, or advertising, or etc…

The system is the system, just be grateful God gave them enough talent to have their shine for a little while.

The ncaa aint exploiting black kids, they exploiting any kid with athletic talent. It aint just race driven.

AD your right that the kids get a lot of stuff but its peanuts compared to what they generate. If you were bringing in a million dollars and I only gave you a hundred dollars then I’m sure we would have a problem.

yea I’m with u johnjohn. college players get used like prostitutes…its a big business. the players get some love tho. free college, free trips, etc. its a nice life when ur good. the final four was crazy hype and it gave young players a chance to show off talent to better their life. those same people that diss black kids getting scholarships and going to the nba are the same people that play the lotto hoping to get lucky!

in america college athletes are like prostitutes. they’re worth paying for! lol. but man no one can hate these kids for seizing an opportunity. those people that don’t like it are the same people that play lotterys… its a slim chance but winnings a possibilty.
