Gun control…
The 2nd Amendment gives us “the right to bear arms” and for years the debate of whether we should be allowed to legally carry weapons has been argued. There are pro’s and con’s on the issue but when I heard the lady in this video give her testimony, it made me think twice about the 2nd Amendment.
Listen and let me know what you think.

On April 15, 2008 at 6:34 amPart of me felt bad for this lady but the other part of me disagreed with her final statement. I thought she would be against guns but it seems like she is for guns being allowed.
Lets just give evrybody an uzi; and may the best man win.

On April 15, 2008 at 9:28 amOoops I did it again. Wait, is that a Britney song…lol. But anyways here’s my take on the gun issue. A person has the right to protect themselves and family at any cost. You can’t control a crazy man with a gun; but you can have a gun just in case you cross a crazy man!

On April 21, 2008 at 11:35 pmVery sensitive subject, I feel sorry for that lady and what she had to undergo, but imagine if everyone there had guns, there would have been a lot more bloodshed. I don’t know if I’m for or against “the right to bear arms” either way, someone will be unhappy. There are too many gray areas in this discussion. I don’t want to carry a gun because I don’t want that kind of weight on my shoulders. But I’m not sure how everyone else feels, would love to see more people answering this question just to get a feel of what the people think.

On April 22, 2008 at 9:57 pmGun control…. ah, we’re going here….. I read on a bumper sticker that “Guns don’t kill people, People kill people”. Now, I don’t own a gun, but I’m not against them. I think that having a gun is a right… just like voting… you can choose to exercise that right or choose not to. But what I will add is that with that comes responsibility. I hope that that gun would be used in an appropriate manner. If you are getting it for protection then make sure that it has a working safety on it and learn how to shoot it; or when the time comes that you need it because there IS a crazy person with a gun they might have better aim than you!Or you might not remember how to take the safety off. However, if you are getting a gun and not caring for it that is a different story… not cleaning it or not having it locked up if you have children in the house is careless. That is when guns get into the wrong hands and bad things happen.
So, as for my stance on this issue, the second amendment is a right that should stay.
And I’m pretty sure that someone is going to try to rebutt this with a “how would you feel if your child was shot by a gun?” And my answer to that is… it would be horrible and tramatic and I could only be mad at the idiot parent who neglected to do their job! By either not locking up their gun or teaching their child right from wrong, or simply not being their to keep them on the right track in their lives. No one who is proud to be an American can be against guns. Because it’s guns that gave us these rights that we’re lucky to have in the first place.
