At a recent Katy Perry concert, I was in awe at the lengths some of Perry’s fans went in hopes of recreating her signature beauty looks: From neon pink lips to blue and purple wigs and candy-inspired costumes (more than one girl showed up in a Necco’s Candy Buttons outfit!), there were wannabe Katy Perrys everywhere. This level of replication is a little extreme, yes, but we all draw beauty inspiration from somewhere—and, often, from someone in particular. Take me, for example. when I see a photo of a celebrity in a weekly magazine looking really pretty in her everyday life, I use it as my inspiration, like when I recently made the switch from a luminizing tinted moisturizer to a powder (Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder) to mimic my current celebrity beauty crush, Minka Kelly (who radiates fresh, matte skin).
