The men-on-a-mission movie is a time-honoured staple of the cinema. sometimes we’re told how many men there are: the Dirty Dozen, the Magnificent seven, Ocean’s eleven. sometimes we have to guess: Inglourious Basterds, Where Eagles dare, Saving Private Ryan.

Gabourey is talented but unless the public demands girls who are of colour and who do not fit the weight ideal she will be a one hit wonder. I really do like her.

That’s right. No explosions. No shrieking aliens. No bombastic superhero scores. And nary the sound of one transforming robot. that means it’s fall, and it’s time for some grown-up movies again — and, OK, a movie about boxing robots, sure.
