LONDON—Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is in London for the world premiere of his new movie “Larry Crowne.”

Hanks directed, co-wrote and also stars as the protagonist in the movie, which is about a middle-aged man who reinvents himself by going back to college after he loses his job.
