She also let her fans know that R&B singer Trey Songz will definitely be on the album as well. WHAT has been the highlight of your year so far?
Being nominated for an SA Music Award for my latest album, inner Voice. it was a huge surprise for me. I certainly did not expect it, as my album was fairly new. having been absent from the recording industry for a while, the nomination convinced me that my timing is on point.

Sonyae Elise is no newcomer to the Singersroom realm. the Newark, New Jersey bred singer/songwriter recently won Bravo’s songwriting reality competition “Platinum Hit”. while taking a break from winning the show and celebrating her latest accomplishment, Sonyae spoke to Singersroom about leaving school for music, her experience on the show, as well as her latest mixtape, “Lady Rebel Vol.2″. Check out what she shared with us in this short convo: On leaving school to pursue her dream: “I had to leave everything right where it was at and believe I could make this happen. I left Rutgers, it was my last year of finishing school. I had a 3.7 GPA, I was doing well in school. But my heart was somewhere, my mind was somewhere else. it was driving me crazy so I had to get up and get out. everything happens for a reason definitely. I am glad I went with my heart.” her experience on Bravo’s ‘Platinum Hit’: “My experience was weird at first because they took our cell phones and laptops. I was glad to be apart of it because I got to be myself.” Most learned lesson from being on the show: “Definitely became more aware of my strengths as well as my weaknesses. Prior to coming to the show, I just knew I was born to make music. But to know you have work to do is important when you want to master your craft. I learned that I have really tough skin, which is a good thing in life period. it is also important to take people’s advice.” On her mixtape Lady Rebel Vol. 2: “Lady Rebel volume 2 is a continuum of volume 1. I am a blend between Beyonce Knowles and Keyshia Cole; I am the best of both worlds. the lady and that rebel is that merge. the artwork is representative of that; I have a bunch of rebellious strong black women who made their stamp on the world featured on it. I have Vonetta McGee, Maya Angelou and Linda Jones who is my favorite singer of all time. Music This Saturday: in 2006, Fountain Square underwent a renovation, not only in a physical sense but also in the way the heart-of-the-city’s space was used by citizens and visitors. The 3CDC group behind the refurbishment greatly expanded the number and quality of events presented on the Square. The biggest part of the expansion focused on live music events, so it made sense that, to celebrate the “reopening” of Fountain Square, several big-name artists performed at the relaunch celebration, including OK go and Los Lobos. Kicking off the festivities was Hip Hop star Talib Kweli, who performed with Cincy breakout Hip Hop artist Hi-Tek. Saturday, Talib is back for another free performance on the Square, this time as part of the every-Saturday “Slam!” concert series, organized by local promo crew self Diploma.
R. Kelly is resting "indefinitely" after undergoing emergency throat surgery.
the 'I Believe I Can Fly' singer had an abscess on one of his tonsils drained on Tuesday (07-19-11) and is now staying at Chicago's Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His publicist Allan Mayer said Wednesday (07-20-11) he will be "laid up indefinitely" following the surgery. the singer had recently complained of throat pain, and was rushed to the hospital after a throat exam. no further details of how long it may take for Kelly's recovery have been made public yet. the 'Love Letter' rapper had just finished a U.S. tour with Keyshia Cole and Marsha Ambrosius, and while his voice had been bad, he did tweet last week to say he thought it was getting better.
