During a recent interview with Conan O’Brien, Kid Cudi spoke about his fans and his HBO show as well as his latest purchases while wearing the highly sought after Nike MAGs.
If there’s one thing that can be said about iPhonic, it’s that they know how to party. But what makes them stand out from the crowd is not only the fact that they blend elements of rock and roll with their hip-hop sound, it’s the fact that they play their own instruments live- something that many hip-hop artists do not. Guitarist/keyboardist, Matt Gibson, says that the band comes from a background of rock n roll, and that “the energy and power of a group of friends rocking out together on stage cannot be matched, and [we] knew we had to bring that into iPhonic.”

Even before “how To Make It In America” premiered on HBO last year, comparisons to HBO’s other male-centered show, “Entourage” were inevitable, albeit unfair. Both shows centered on the story of young, children-less men striving to become success stories against the backdrop of big American cities (“Entourage,” Los Angeles; “how To Make It In America,” New York City), but while “Entourage” was a story about having fame and fortune and getting more, “how To Make It In America” is about having neither of those things and trying to get at least a taste. If “Entourage” was a show about the Hollywood dream, “how To Make It in America” is a show about the working reality when the dreamer wakes up.

As most students would likely agree, life at Stanford is generally a satisfying experience. One common complaint, however, is the lack of “big-name” concerts. Students with friends at our peer institutions hear about Penn’s annual Spring Fling festivities or Princeton’s Lawn Parties. Auctions have surpassed all expectations, with some reaching figures as high $37,000. Tinie Tempah used the line “[I] can’t afford a pair of trainers” in his track Wonderman. well times have changed for the British rapper as he secured himself a pair of these infamous kicks with a bid of £24,000 at a charity auction in LA.
