do you just love Christmas specials? think The Muppets’ Christmas Carol should be on TV all year? perhaps Mariah Carey’s Christmas Album is always in your CD player?
IT’S hard to imagine too many occasions more intimate than giving birth. At least none where strangers watch.
In my own (albeit one-time only) experience, it isn’t the kind of thing you’d want to turn into a public spectacle.

MARIAH Carey‘s daughter is giving the singer a run for her money in the diva stakes, according to her husband, Nick Cannon.
The Touch my Body singer gave birth to twins Morrocan and Monroe in April — but their son and daughter are taking after each of their parents in very characteristic ways.
Never appearing on the annual television program before, Lady Gaga will be headlining this year’s ‘Dick Clark’s new Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.’ 
Fall may have just started but the lineup for the annual Dick Clark’s new Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest is already underway, with Lady Gaga the first act announced. the “You and I” singer has never appeared on the program before, which last year was headlined by Ke$ha and Taio Cruz. Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas will also be present but more as a co-host this year than performer.
Nick Cannon has said the birth of his twins with superstar Mariah Carey was “over the top.”
Mariah, 41 had ordered her 1995 live performance of ‘Fantasy’ to be played as the babies arrived so that they would be born to a round of applause.
Individuals often carry several different types of insurances policies including automobile, health, life and homeowners. Popular music played an undeniable role in how people dealt with the events of 9/11 in the months that followed the attack ten years ago. From songs written specifically about the event like Alan Jackson’s “where Were you (When the World stopped Turning),” to contemporary songs that listeners found newfound relevance in like Enrique Iglesias’ “Hero,” to older songs that saw a return to popularity thanks to their patriotic message like Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” music did around 9/11 what it always does best: It gave a voice to emotions people could never properly express on their own. And of course, with the Concert for New York City, music also gave Americans one of their greatest bonding and rallying moments in the fallout from the tragedy.
Georgia States’ Idol competition kicked off with a sultry rendition of Lady Gaga’s “You and I” performed by Chelsey Cashwell. Cashwell wooed the crowd with her performance, setting the stage for what would be a showcase of amazing talent.
The competition that took place on Aug. 30 at the Rialto, was Georgia States’ 6th annual version of the hit reality TV show, American Idol. Auditions were held on Aug. 25 and 10 contestants were selected to compete. The show’s host was Kyle Stapleton, who actually resembled Ryan Seacrest (host of American Idol) with his refreshing comedic spin and chic fashion. When asked about the organization of the event, Stapleton said, “well, the wheels were already up on this thing. The Office of new Student Orientation and the Rialto have been collaborating via the Panther welcome Committee for five years now.”

Katy Perry’s historic fifth no. 1 on the Hot 100 from her “Teenage Dream” album makes her one of only seven artists in the history of the Hot 100 to put together a string of five or more consecutive chart-toppers, placing her in esteemed company that includes Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey. “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” is the fifth no. 1 in a row from Perry’s “Teenage Dream” album, as Billboard.biz reported. the run began with “California Gurls” and continued with the title track, “Firework” and “E.T.” It’s not as rare as collecting five no. 1s from one album, but it’s still an infrequent accomplishment for any artist to have five or more consecutive singles reach the top of the Hot 100. Elvis Presley did it with “A Big Hunk o’ Love,” “Stuck on You,” “It’s Now or Never,” “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” and “Surrender,” between 1959-1961. the first group to rack up five no. 1s in a row on the Hot 100 was the Supremes. In 1964-65, the Motown trio scored with “Where Did Our Love go,” “Baby Love,” “Come See about me,” “Stop! In the Name of Love” and “Back in My Arms Again.” the Beatles had six consecutive no. 1s between 1964-1966 with “I Feel Fine,” “Eight Days a Week,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Help!,” “Yesterday” and “We Can Work it Out” although, like Presley, all of those singles had flip sides that either charted on the main Hot 100 or the Bubbling under tally. In 1977, the Bee Gees also started a run of six consecutive no. 1s that ran through 1979, starting with three titles from the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack: “How Deep Is your Love,” “Stayin’ Alive” and “Night Fever.” this trio was followed directly by another hat trick of no. 1s: “Too Much Heaven,” “Tragedy” and “Love You Inside out,” all from the “Spirits having Flown” LP. Whitney Houston’s second Arista single, “Saving all My Love for You,” started a run of seven consecutive no. 1s for her that ran from 1985-1988 and included “How will I know,” “Greatest Love of all,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “Didn’t We Almost have it all,” “So Emotional” and “Where Do Broken Hearts go.” this accomplishment requires an asterisk, as Arista released a single, “Thinking about You” between “Saving all My Love for You” and “How will I know,” but it was only promoted to R&B radio, not pop radio. it peaked at no. 10 on Billboard’s R&B singles chart and never appeared on the Hot 100. As previously reported, Michael Jackson is the only other artist to have five no. 1s on the Hot 100 from one album. In 1987-88, Jackson had five consecutive chart-toppers from “Bad”: “I just Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Bad,” “The Way You make me Feel,” “Man in the Mirror” and “Dirty Diana.” Mariah Carey made her Hot 100 debut in June 1990 with “Vision of Love,” which was the first of five no. 1s in a row, including “Love Takes Time,” “Someday,” “I Don’t Wanna Cry” and “Emotions.” She had another run of five no. 1s from 1995 to 1998 with “Fantasy,” “One Sweet Day,” “Always be My Baby,” “Honey” and “My all.” Carey’s first run of five no. 1s in a row carries an additional unique distinction: they were her first five titles to chart on the Hot 100. “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” is the 53rd no. 1 single on the Capitol label in the 53-year history of the Hot 100 and the sixth no. 1 on the Hollywood-based label for Perry, more than any other Capitol act has accumulated except for the Beatles (with 13). With six no. 1s on Capitol, Perry has double the number of chart-toppers of her nearest competitors, the Beach Boys, Helen Reddy, Steve Miller Band and Wings. the artists with more than one Hot 100 no. 1 on Capitol are as follows: the Beatles (13) Katy Perry (6) the Beach Boys (3) Helen Reddy (3) Steve Miller Band (3) Wings (3) Grand Funk (2) Glen Campbell (2) Duran Duran (2) Heart (2) Using chart performance on the Hot 100 as a measure, Perry is the most successful solo artist as well as the most successful female artist on Capitol in the tenure of the Hot 100. She is also the reason Capitol is the label with the longest span of no. 1s on the Hot 100. From “Tom Dooley” by the Kingston Trio in November 1958 to Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, Capitol has a record-setting run of chart-toppers stretching out over 52 years and nine months. Perry has amassed her six no. 1s in three years and one week, counting back to July 5, 2008, the date on the chart when “I Kissed a Girl” moved into first place. “I Kissed a Girl” was Perry’s only chart-topper from her first Capitol album, “One of the Boys.”
