OU-Texas in Dallas, the Tulsa State fair, Art on Main in Jenks, and Oklahoma State hosting Kansas. Just some of the things to do in the Tulsa and surrounding area. OK, the Oklahoma-Texas battle isn’t in the surrounding area but thousands of Okies will invade big D this weekend for that game. In our quest to make sure you have plenty on your plate this weekend, we have put together this page of suggestions, links, and possibilities. Also check for all the notes from Tasha as well. Before you leave, vote in our poll and if your answer is “other,” please let us know in the comments section what that “other” thing is. Enjoy!

1318396498 80 MC Hammer at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

.The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival returns to Golden Gate Park this weekend, kicking off Thursday with the annual MC Hammer educational program. I’ve missed it for the past many years but am thinking of heading out there to check it out. The only problem is, my kid is in kindergarten now and it’s probably not so easy to pull her out of class for concerts. Hmm, is it weird to go to the children’s show by yourself? I mean, it’s MC Hammer!

1317574532 51 Dancing With the Stars Review: Season 13 is Raising the … Floor? What happens when an Iraq war veteran turned soap star, a transgendered child of Cher, an Italian model ex-girlfriend of George Clooney, a TV show host/former prosecutor, and another pointless Kardashian stroll onto a newly-raised dance floor? Season 9,000 of Dancing with the Stars, that’s what! Okay, I might be exaggerating  just a tad on the seasons there. I can’t help it. Sometimes it feels as if this show is on 5 times per year. In reality, it is season 13 of this classic glittery cheesefest, and I couldn’t be happier to see it again. right off the bat, it is obvious that this season will be high on entertainment, emotion, and a cast that is a hilarious combination of strange, endearing, and oddly inspirational. Cue up that catchy theme music – here we go! (Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo …doot doot doot doo doot!)

Rick Ross loves to mention all the foods and drinks he enjoys devouring in his music. Who could ever forget the epic line, “she thinking Phillipe’s, I’m thinking Wingstop,” the Bawse spit on “MC Hammer”? or when Rozay said, “Used to run the street–young nigga, bare feet/Now I’m in the suites and I’m eatin’ crab meats,” on “Mafia Music.” being that the Maybach Music Group leader has a penchant for food, XXL decided to help him go into the business with his own restaurant. welcome to Chez Rozay. come in, have a seat and keep the chopper in the car. these delicious items are sure to make patrons say, “hunngh!” after the meal.—XXL Staff

And fair enough, too.

Recycle Studios: New life for old trends — NewsWorks

I like a good trend. It keeps me in step with the masses and gives me common ground at the office water cooler. That’s why I’m a little sad to let go of “winning” as my catchphrase du jour. Sure, it was hot three months ago, but now that the zealot’s gleam has faded from Charlie Sheen’s glassy eyes, I’m left with the existential question: what do I do with  the stale catchphrases, my MC Hammer pants, my jelly shoes and all the left over odds-and-ends of trends past?
