Since Cheryl Cole’s sensational exit from X Factor USA, it was rumoured that her frosty relationship with fellow judge Paula Abdul had been the cause of the tension on set, which lead Simon Cowell to give Chezza the boot. But now, Paula is still reaching out to the Geordie lass so maybe they really are friends?
In the pilot episode of the newest American talent search “X-Factor” which debuted on the Fox Network on September 21st, a 14-year old singer by the name of Ellona Santiago rocked the audience and wowed the judges resulting in unanimous and resounding “yes” votes from judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Antonio “L.a.” Reid and Nicole Scherzinger (Fil-Am lead singer of the PussyCat Dolls). many asked, wondered, is she Filipino? Well, as a matter of fact, yes, she is! and a full-blooded one at that.
Country hopefuls have been all over the ‘X Factor‘ audition rounds thus far, including 16-year-old Skyelor Anderson of Mississippi. Anderson drove nine hours to audition for ‘X Factor’ judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole and L.a. Reid, and he impressed all of them with an a cappella cover of Billy Currington‘s ‘Must Be Doing something Right.’

The boy-girl duo opened the Wednesday night’s show and performed Zac Brown Band’s “Colder Weather.” Makenna has a great, husky voice, and the two play off each other well, delivering a pleasant if unremarkable performance.

I am sitting on the edge of the booth trying to interview Rebecca Black, but Rebecca Black is not looking at me. We’re in a trendy West Hollywood café, and she is sitting with her forehead pressed to the table, her long charcoal hair obscuring her face. She lets out a sigh and, without lifting her head, turns her face toward the cell phone clutched in her hand and begins to scroll through text messages. She’s flanked by her mother, a polite woman in her late forties with the same charcoal hair as her daughter, and her manager, Debra Baum, who has also worked with Paula Abdul.
