Maybach Music Group honcho Rick Ross and his team of spitters made an impressive run through their cypher at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. MMG maybe the newest rap label in the game, but after viewing their freestyles they all sound like noble veterans.
As Wale gears up to drop his sophomore LP Ambition on November 1, on Friday the Maybach Music MC premiered his video for “Bait,” featuring TCB. Filmed in his native D.C. on Hanover Street, Wale truly puts on for his city as evident by his opening bars: “Made it big with go-go, and I made it with that dough flow/ This right here for D.C., this one right here for Polo.”
If we had a dollar for every person who’s said, “Can’t believe it’s the end of October, huh?” we’d probably be off sailing the Mediterranean with Bey and Jay. we don’t know where the days went either, but we’d rather distract ourselves with music than waste time stating the obvious. That was a legitimately scary half-hour or so. After foreboding reports of Rick Ross being carted unconscious off his Delta flight (he was on his way to open a Wingstop, apparently?) surfaced, we prayed for the best but feared for the worst about the rapper’s condition. but now not only has his good buddy Walé tweeted about him being “100 pct OK,” but the Boss himself has returned to the bluebird, tweeting 20 minutes ago in response to his friend, XXL editor Elliot Wilson’s message of “@rickyrozay Don’t scare a nigga like that. thanks.”:

Mary J. Blige is a hardworking girl these days. I wrote last week of her upcoming album, and how it will feature her rapping alter ego – the album is titled ‘My Life II… the Journey Continues (Act I), which only leaves the public anticipating a second act (at least). Besides all of this time she has been putting into the studio for her own works, the R&B legend has been contributing to other artists’ projects as well.
