As it flies 16-4 on Hot Digital Songs with 169,000 downloads sold (up 99%), the song nets the second-best weekly sum for a male country artist. 2011 “American Idol” champion Scotty McCreery’s “I Love you this Big” began with 171,000 two weeks ago. Aldean performed “Anthem” with Ludacris on the 2011 CMT Music Awards (June 8). a new studio version with the rapper, released June 7, accounts for 44% of the title’s overall download total. at the same time Aldean’s album “My Kinda Party” is this week’s Billboard 200 album chart’s Greatest Gainer. – Adele: Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” logs a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Deep” spends a third week atop Hot 100 Airplay (151 million in audience, up 1%, according to Nielsen BDS). The multi-format smash rewrites the weekly plays record (5,109) on the Adult Top 40 airplay survey for a fifth straight week, tops Mainstream Top 40 for a third week and bullets as the Greatest Gainer at No. 2 on Adult Contemporary. on Hot Digital Songs, “Deep” claims a sixth frame at No. 1 (224,000 downloads sold, down 8%, according to Nielsen SoundScan). – Nicki Minaj: The rapper earns her first Hot 100 top 10 as a lead artist, as “Super Bass” steps 11-10. The cut climbs 8-6 on Hot Digital Songs (143,000, up 8%) and 31-14 on Hot 100 Airplay (50 million, up 38%). Minaj had previously ranked in the Hot 100 top 10 last year as a guest on Trey Songz’s “Bottoms Up” (No. 6). – Coldplay: In its first full week of availability, “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” rises 29-14 on the Hot 100 and 17-7 on Hot Digital Songs (136,000, up 60%). Rock radio is offering solid early support, as the song zooms 23-3 on Triple a and 28-13 on Alternative. – Katy Perry: Perry is making a bid for a fifth consecutive Hot 100 No. 1 from “Teenage Dream,” as “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” surges 63-31. It’s the highest new entry on Hot 100 Airplay at No. 40 (28 million, up 101%) and shoots 62-28 on Hot Digital Songs (66,000, up 112%). The song’s ’80s-inspired eight-minute video, which has already tallied more than 10 million YouTube views since its premiere earlier this week, sports cameos from Corey Feldman, Kenny G and Debbie Gibson, as well as Generation Y-ers Rebecca Black and “Glee” stars Darren Criss and Kevin McHale. The song, from the “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” soundtrack, due on next week’s album charts, starts at No. 16 on Hot Digital Songs (88,000), where it’s the group’s best rank since debut entry “Misery Business” reached No. 11 in 2007. Paramore’s last Hot 100 entry, last year’s “The only Exception,” took eight weeks to reach the top 40, eventually peaking at No. 24; pop and adult airplay built for “Exception” as stations warmed to a rare ballad from the band. — The Band Perry: “If I Die Young” returns to the Hot 100 at No. 46 after wrapping a 28-week chart run in January. The song peaked at No. 19 in October on its way to reaching the Hot Country Songs summit in December. The ballad, which “American Idol” runner-up Lauren Alaina performed on the series’ may 17 episode, has been promoted to pop and adult radio since early this year and re-enters the Hot 100 powered by No. 29 rankings on Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Contemporary and a No. 32 arrival on Adult Top 40. on Hot Digital Songs, the track rebounds 44-36 (49,000, up 21%). – Brad Paisley: “Remind Me,” with Carrie Underwood, starts on the Hot 100 at No. 59, spurred by 42,000 downloads sold in its first week of a la carte availability; the song had been available previously only when purchasing Paisley’s new album, “This is Country Music,” in its entirety. Arista Nashville has not yet confirmed the song as the set’s next single, following the Hot Country Songs No. 1 “Old Alabama” (featuring Alabama), but the duet ballad bounds 26-21 in its fourth week on the genre airplay tally. – Dia Frampton: “The Voice” contestant’s cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless” debuts at (No. 78; 37,000 downloads), marking the show’s second track to make the survey. Javier Colon’s remake of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” spent a week at No. 65 (46,000) last month. The Billboard 200: – Adele & “The Book of Mormon” — this week, Adele’s “21″ returns to No. 1 (up one slot, with 114,000; down 5%) for tenth nonconsecutive week while the the original Broadway cast recording of “The Book of Mormon” makes history, re-entering at No. 3. Next week, we’re expecting the rap duo of bad Meets Evil (Royce da 5’9″ and Eminem) to arrive in the top slot with perhaps 150,000 copies sold. — As for some interesting moves and debuts outside the top 10 this week: — Ozzy Osbourne & Michael Jackson: The biggest positional drop on the Billboard 200 this week belongs to Ozzy Osbourne’s “Blizzard of Ozz,” which tumbles a whopping 117 rungs from No. 75 to No. 192 (3,000; down 48%). The set re-entered last week after it was reissued with bonus content. It’s not unusual to see repackaged sets tumble after only a week or two. The exceptions to the rule are those expanded titles that benefit from incredible promotion — like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller 25″ reissue. It re-entered the Top Pop Catalog Albums chart at No. 1 on March 1, 2008 and spent the next 23 straight weeks on the list. – needtobreathe: Family Christian’s $5 sale for the band’s “The Outsiders” set lifts it by 98% — it sold 7,000 (rising 163-73), marking its best sales week since its second week on the list last September. The band is also on tour with Taylor Swift, no doubt raising its visibility. – Depeche Mode: The legendary band returns with its second remix album, “Remixes 2: 81-11″ bowing at No. 105 with 5,000. at a lengthy 39-tracks, this deluxe version is tracking separately from the much slimmer 13-track edition. The latter didn’t sell enough to make the Billboard 200 this week (a little over 1,000), but it did debut at No. 16 on the Dance/Electronic Albums tally. The deluxe version of the set enters at No. 3 on the Dance list. The new “Remixes” set was released through Mute/Reprise/Rhino — the band’s first release with its old label home at Warner Music since departing for EMI Music in October of 2008. It’s last studio set, “Sounds of the Universe” (Mute/Virgin/Capitol), arrived at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in 2009 off an 80,000 start. – above & Beyond: Speaking of the Dance/Electronic Albums chart, the production trio’s second artist album, “Group Therapy,” arrives with 3,000 and takes a bow at No. 4. It’s the first top 10 set for the act since the tally launched in 2001. over on the Billboard 200 “Group” enters at No. 163 — their first hit on that list. meanwhile, the set’s “Sun & Moon” (featuring Richard Bedford) bullets 13-11 on Dance Airplay … In other Dance/Electronic Albums chart news: Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way” remains atop the list for a third straight week while the list also welcomes debuts from Benny Benassi’s “Electroman” (No. 11; 2,000), indie pop/dance singer Simon Curtis’ “RA” (No. 20; 1,000) and STS9′s “When the Dust Settles” (No. 24; just under 1,000). – The Beatles: back on the Billboard 200 chart, the Beatles’ “Love” returns to the chart for the first time since March as it re-enters at No. 160 with 3,000 (up 191%). The Las Vegas-based Cirque du Soleil show celebrated its fifth anniversary last week and promotion of said milestone, in addition to front page placement in the iTunes Store, helps lift it back onto the tally. The “Love” re-entry comes as the band’s “Anthology” series made its iTunes (and digital) bow on June 14. The three volumes, originally released in 1995 and 1996, all debuted at No. 1 the Billboard 200. Making its premiere this week is an “Anthology Box Set,” combining all of the tracks from the three editions and a 23-track distillation titled “Anthology Highlights.”
