Knoxville — The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce has planned a host of events and activities for guests throughout this Nationals week.
each morning, the community and visitors alike can have a hot breakfast at the National Guard Armory, located off of Highway 14 near the Knoxville Raceway. The breakfast, sponsored by Iowa State Savings Bank, is served from 8 a.m.-noon through Saturday.

Yesterday the web-world was aflutter with news that Helen Mirren snagged the title for “Best Body of the Year“. We absolutely adore Mirren for aging so gracefully and healthfully! and Mirren’s award got us thinking: what other celebrities over the age of 60 inspire us to be fitter?
It was one of those rags-to-riches tales that seems to take place once in a lifetime.

The extent to which average Americans care or understand about the debris now being dredged up in the Rupert Murdoch News of the World scandal remains to be seen. Up until now, the hacking drama complete with a brutal murder of a young girl, an ‘unexplained’ death, arrests of government aides, editors and police officials, bribery, and a humbled multi-billionaire has been fittingly relegated to the land of Shakespeare.
Lindsay Lohan. Britney Spears. Demi Lovato. We all could keep the names coming. These days, it’s only a matter of time before another young actor or actress dives off the deep end, shaves their hair, and very publicly drags themselves off to rehab. the problem: we expect teen celebrities to fail, to reveal themselves as drug addicts, to turn up in rehab. if tomorrow morning Daniel Radcliffe overdoses on crack and wakes up in jail, all your friends will say, “I told you so.” no biggie. Another shining star falls and life moves on.

A BLACKBURN woman is set to launch a double world record attempt in the globe’s toughest rowing race.
All eyes will again be on Sandwich in Kent today, as the young golf hero Rory McIlroy bids to recover after his disappointing start at the British Open. If he lifts the trophy on Sunday afternoon, his status as the potential successor to Tiger Woods will be confirmed.
The 2nd Voices international festival of European youth cinema, which took place in Vologda in northwestern Russia, has revealed a surprising unanimity of opinions of the jury and the audience.
Voices’ Program Director Igor Guskov agreed that the festival’s program turned out to be equally interesting for Vologda movie goers and for professionals:
