Evander Holyfield beats wife over church tithing
Said Holyfield, "I will beat yo’ ass…in the name of the Lord."
EVANDER HOLYFIELD has agreed to attend marriage counseling sessions with his wife after she obtained a restraining order against the retired boxer amid allegations of domestic violence.
Candi Holyfield called police to their Georgia home on 1 February (10) after a late-night bust-up turned nasty. According to legal papers obtained by RadarOnline.com, Holyfield’s third wife claimed he hit her in the face when she refused to provide proof that she had been making regular donations to the church.
In her official statement, she says, "He asked me if I had been tithing (contributing). He wanted me to show him the check stubs of my payments to the church. I told him I was not going to show them to him."
"He then hit me in the face, the back of my head twice and in my back… He got up and turned the light on and started looking at my face and told me he was sorry, that he knew he shouldn’t have done that."
