Jazmine Sullivan might be taking a break from the music industry, but that hasn’t stopped a gang of new material from surfacing over the past few months. we most recently heard the head-nodder “Fly & Sexy” and she’s a guest on P.J. Morton‘s latest effort. now, thanks to longtime collaborator Salaam Remi, we have Jazmine’s “My Career.” The track is a female empowerment song of sorts, giving a voice to the career-oriented woman who just doesn’t have the time for love. On the track, Jazmine approaches the issue using the standard topic of infidelity but flipping it to (ironically) discuss her dedication to her craft. “It ain’t a man that means more than my career,” she sings over sampled drums and a simple keyboard riff. while Jaz typically taps into her powerhouse vocals for her songs, she stays somewhat restrained here as she puts forth her ultimatum to her neglected lover. Does this proliferation of new material mean that we can expect anything new from Ms. Sullivan? Nothing’s been confirmed yet by her camp, but with the great songs we’ve been getting from her way as of late, we can only hope to have a new Jazmine Sullivan album soon…Click Here…See Who SaidIt
