As most Patriots fans, I was excited as hell when New England traded for Chad Ochocinco. I thought he would be the vertical threat they sought since cutting Randy Moss loose last year. I thought he would be a fun addition to the Patriots locker room as he is one of the undisputed kings of social media.
I was even contemplating buying his jersey. This could be considered one of the single best decision I didn’t make. If I did shell out that $85 (pun intended) for that jersey, I would be using it now to change the oil in my jeep.
He has been nothing short of an EPIC FAIL. He couldn’t wrap his head around the playbook. An off the street free agent, Tiquan Underwood was getting playing time over the 11 year veteran. He ended the season with an abyssal 15 receptions for 276 yards and one touchdown. yes you heard that ONE touchdown. In case, you forgot it, here is a quick refresher of Chad Ocho Stinko’s only contribution this season.
For the record, I could have scored on that blown coverage.
But still Patriots Nation held out hope that he would be the secret weapon in the Super Bowl with Rob Gronkowski hobbled by a gimpy ankle. If you call a secret weapon, one catch for 21 yards then he was a SMASHING SUCCESS!
The sad ending, not only to the Patriots championship run, but also Chad Ochocinco’s career in New England was the final Hail Mary play. the same Hail Mary, he wasn’t even on the field for! Are you kidding me? all he has to do is run, jump (he is 6’1″) and catch! the Patriots didn’t even trust him to do that simple task.
So now that the Patriots lost the Super Bowl, Chad (Insert name here) is back on Twitter at a fever pitch. He tweeted this today:
Hey Chad, why not change your name to something that actually fits like, Chad “ICANTFIGUREOUTTHEPLAYBOOK”.
Good luck in your career, you could have been something in New England if you applied yourself more to the playbook than the twitterverse.
