New York rapper Jim Jones is facing legal action amid allegations he stole rap beats from hip-hop producers.
Producer Ivory Keys has filed a lawsuit against Jim Jones and E1 Music alleging the Byrd Gang star has failed to properly compensate and credit Keys for his work on Jone’s 2008 rap album.
Keys’ legal representative said, “Jim stole my producer’s beats along with every other producer on the project by mastering the MP3s without written or oral permission.”
In making a hip-hop album, music production is usually one of the more expensive aspects of the entire project and Jones and apparently stolen beats from other producers before.
Said the rep, “They can’t get away with this anymore. Most producers are just happy to be credited on the album and never actually get paid even though Jones is supposedly making millions…this is theft.”
What’s the use in ‘Ballin’ when you don’t pay your bills?
