During an interview with GWHH’s GY312 in Chicago, RZA was asked about the project he has lined up for 2012, but the Wu-Tang frontman wasn’t willing to offer very many details about several albums that are expected to appear this year. The rapper added that he’s accumulated a library of beats which he’s offered to various artists and revealed that both Nas and Busta Rhymes might put something out based off of his work.
Although RZA confirmed that he and Method Man were interested in collaborating on an album, he indicated that the project was still in an early stage and added that the Wu-Tang tour had priority over the joint album. “right now I’m on tour with the Wu-Tang, having fun. As far as musically, me and Method Man are talking about going to the studio. We never got a chance to do another album since my first album. Maybe we’ll do another album together. Other than that, just rocking these shows and shit, having a good time and shit,” RZA explained.
The rapper didn’t have very much to say about the upcoming Wu-Tang album which he previously indicated would hit sometime in 2012. According to RZA, it doesn’t look like work has been started on the project, but he pointed to the organic nature of the group’s creative process and indicated that they’d finish it once they had a chance to hit the studio. “right now I’m on tour with the Wu-Tang, having fun. RZA wasn’t willing to commit to a release date when he first announced the possibility of new Wu-Tang album at the end of December, 2011 and pointed out the difficulty of pulling together all the members of the group to record an album.
