You can stop pretending to care about hockey: the NBA lockout is over! It was a day-after-Thanksgiving miracle. The players and owners must have gone to their respective mansions and thought, “Okay, I guess we have enough money, let’s just play basketball!” that must have been what happened, because for 149 days of arguing nothing monumental really happened. The basketball-related revenue is going to be split 50/50 between players and owners. The players wanted 57% to begin with—guess that didn’t happen. The owners stand to gain three billion in the next ten years. Oh man. I hate it when rich white people win.

I did not see this coming! PerezHilton.com just got a big Ke$ha exclusive! the gossip website just uploaded online this ‘unreleased’ music video for the electro-pop star’s “Backstabber” song from her debut album “Animal” (2010). As you all know that era finished with four singles released (“Tik Tok”, “Blah Blah Blah”, “Your love Is my Drug” and “Take It Off”), then the re-release/deluxe version hit in, spawning the new singles “We R Who We R” and “Blow”. So apparently now – and I had no idea of this – “Backstabber” was meant to be the fifth single from the original “Animal” era after “Take It Off”…well, I’m happy that did not happen. because “Backstabber” would have without a doubt broken Ke$ha’s streak of consecutive top 10 hits. Me doesn’t like “Backstabber” that much, and it didn’t have ‘hit’ written over it either. the video (see above) was cute tho! Loved the choreography part. in any case, I’m happy for this new random Ke$ha fix.

Our report last week about the record-breaking August numbers for LATimes.com included the rather remarkable stat of 3.5 million page views registered by the relatively new blog “Ministry of Gossip.” so we thought we’d check in with Christie D’Zurilla (pictured), the USC print journalism and chemistry major (!) who runs the site. She started out out working at the Orange County Register before landing at the Times feature-entertainment copy desk in 2003.
