When Common dropped the single “Sweet” from his latest album The Dreamer/The Believer, a few of his lyrics were interpreted as a jab at Drake (“Singing all around me man, la la la”). Since then Common has been questioned about the “subliminal shots” a few times, but during a Tuesday (December 20) appearance on Sway in the Morning, the Chicago rapper finally confirmed that the lines were directed towards Drake (and any other rapper who fits into the category.)

1325720771 12 Music News: What the hell was Cee Lo thinking?Cee Lo performed John Lennon’s peace-seeking classic “Imagine” on NBC’s new Year’s Eve with Carson Daly in Times Square and took the liberty of changing one of the lyrics. Instead of “nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too,” Cee Lo sang “nothing to kill or die for, And all religion’s true.” the slight change made some fans of the song and its late original songwriter pretty angry and Cee-Lo spent the beginning of his new year fielding various Twitter attacks. some of these expressed mere disappointment in the change, other said things like “you don’t change the words to one of the best songs to what you believe go to hell fat boy I wish you a heart attack.” Cee Lo’s equally vulgar comebacks, which you can view on Huffington Post, have since been deleted from the singer’s Twitter feed, but he did explain his change of the lyric by tweeting “I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys! I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that’s all.”

1321016309 69 Britney Spears, Rihanna, And Videos Ripped From The Rumors Popdust

Britney Spears and Rihanna’s careers have diverged since “S&M” tied the two together, but their latest videos, “we Found Love” and “Criminal,” are awfully similar. both songs are middling–Spears’ “Criminal” is a trifle, neither as immediate as her other singles nor as sonically inventive as Femme Fatale‘s album tracks, and “we Found Love” is a lot of empty noise by Calvin Harris with emptier lyrics that doesn’t bounce enough to distract you from Rihanna’s foregoing time to grow between albums. their videos debuted only a few days apart. both were filmed in or near the U.K., upsetting politicians and farmers therein. both are racy; both contain one or both of violence and crime. both feature bad boys and their bad schemes. both unabashedly evoke the artists’ personal lives, and both are the more effective for it.
