Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson must hand over big bucks to his estranged wife as his divorce settlement became final.
Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson filed for divorce from his wife in January (09), citing irreconcilable differences following 10 months of marriage.
She in turn challenged Gibson’s petition and accused him of being a bad father to their two year old daughter Shayla and also requested a judge grant her some financial compensation, even though the union was so brief, because “(Gibson) earned roughly $800,000 during the 10 months of marriage”.
On Monday a judge made a temporary ruling in her favor making Gibson pay $6,230 a month in support, $2,730 to cover her rent, and a further $800 towards her car payments.
We’re all for falling in love and trusting your spouse, but at some point there has to be a ‘prenump’ in a relationship when one person’s financial situation is extremely better than the other person’s.
Basically for 10 months of ‘shacking up’ she going to earn $10,000 per month, not to mention child support for their 2 year old daughter. They say it’s cheaper to keep her, we say its cheaper to sign a ‘prenump’.

Being a man that has to work hard to get it, I understand. I agree with the prenump but I would still pay my wife. I want a prenump so the law cant dictate what I do with my money. If I marry a woman its deeper than just having a relationship or a friend. Its a commitment I make before God that I promise to be a husband. Not to say paying her after the divorce makes it all good but paying her for me is not such a crazy act. I hate the fact a judge can tell me how to take care of mine but I would take care of mine even if I chose to leave. She might be mad she dont get the car she wanted but if i made that much money she would have a car and somewhere to live and of course my kid would need for nothing. If everybody took getting married serious people wouldnt get married as much. For me geting divorce in ten months is a suspect look on his part. As a man I take the time to learn my woman. If I choose to marry then Im saying no matter what I can deal with this woman. To divorce in ten months is saying my decision process is faulty or Im wishy washy and cant handle conflict without quiting. God Bless him and I pray he comes out of this with a positive outlook on the next time he chooses a wife.

many women now a days really get on my nerves :-[, they want to be treated equal with men, and cry about inequality, but many of them are jersey chaser’s, and gold diggin skanks!!! no kid needs 6k a month for child support, its just a way for this gold diggin dragon to punish him for chasing someone other chick(probaly white)!! and no disrespect to pro’s comment, but how can somebody really be your wife(besides the title wife)in ten months!!! i dated my girl 2years before we moved in together!!!! and 3yrs before we had a kid!! i also feel if we mutually cant get along then its not my responsibility to take care of you any longer after we split!! i mean are you gonna be coming over to my new place washing my garments, preparing my dinner, giving me brains, vacuming my place, washing my funky drawers!!, i dnt think so, so why should i pay you while your out chasing another jersey!! i’m definitly gonna take care of my kid, but i feel women today and spineless coward men have just ruin the marriage relationship!!!!
I think blackduck was a little too harsh in how he said it, but I completely agree. I think a lot of these women are being awarded way too much money and I know they’re not going to use it all on their kid/kids. It’s a shame he has to pay her all that money. Chicks like her give real women that can take care of their own a bad name! She could have worked out something with him without using the court system cause we all know they’re unfair.
