Former Fugees star Wyclef Jean will announce his intentions to run for the position of president of Haiti, according to reports.
The ‘Ready Or Not’ singer is likely to confirm the rumors surrounding his presidential bid on the Larry King Show tomorrow, reports CNN.
Jean’s brother has said that the singer is "very serious" about becoming president of the nation after rumors broke out following his filing of the required paperwork for office last month.
His brother told The AP: "It’s not something that was taken lightly, it’s not a joke… It is different for us, but we are proud of him and we are going to support him in any way we can."
Since the nation was hit by a devastating earthquake in January last year, Jean has been one of the celebrities spearheading campaigns to raise money and awareness of the plight of the Haitian people.
Jean is currently serving as a goodwill ambassador for Haiti and he is also the founder of the Yele Haiti charity.
