Lil’ Wayne is #1…
Lil’ Wayne captured his first #1 Billboard single this past week with “Lollipop”. For Lil’ Wayne fans, it’s hard to believe that this is his first #1 single, especially since “Lollipop” is the most annoying song ever. I just hope he doesn’t follow in the footsteps of T-Pain by over using that vocal tube synthesizer.
Either way, I gotta’ give him props for this accomplishment. It’s great to see a talented rap artist having success versus a “one hit wonder”.

The boy has talent. I like him, but Here’s the first verse to Lil’ Wayne’s song, please let me know when he starts going hard on the track:
Okay, lil mama had a swag like mine
even wear her hair down her back like mine
i make her feel right when its wrong like lyin
Man, she ain never had a love like mine
n’ man i aint never seen a *** like hers
and that ***** in my mouth had me at a loss fo words
told her to back it up like erp erp
and make that *** jump like shczerp shczerp
and thats when she said i lo-lo-look like a lollipop
( oh yeah i like that )
she said i lo-lo-look like a lollipop
( oh yeah i like that )
she said i lo-lo-look like a lollipop
( oh yeah i like that )
shawty i lo-lo-lookin like a lollipop
( oh yeah i like that )
And I would’ve posted the entire song, but I didn’t feel ya’ll wanted to read that garbage! But a lot of people like the song. And in the beginning they hated, but it’s Lil’ Wayne so they grew to like it.
My take: HATED IT! Wish I had a lollipop to stick it down his throat! hahaha… sorry Wayne fans. You know this wasn’t his best song.
of course the single is #1 it is of a sexually explicit nature isn’t it? He still look like an ugly CRICKET. I would applaud his accomplishment (even with the nature of the song) if he wasn’t a DOPE HEAD.
Eve, I’m with you 100%. No actual “content” worth listening too. Maybe he should have named that song “Nigger” =).. At least it would have some type of appeal, even if it was just debatable.
ad you crazy boy ..lmao!!!!!i actually dont care too much for the lyrics but i love the beat!!! i can dance to it all niht…but big ups to lil wayne its obvious that he is giving some people what they want to hear!
Lil’ Wayne is officially wack. Of course he has talent but now he’s a “Pop Star” meaning he’ll be pressured to make more #1 singles that his core fans hate. He’s been talking about money for so long, well he’s finally gonna be a victim of his own desires. Money just killed another good rapper!
wow… I figure if “its a wonderful world” can become a classic its not always bout lyrics its bout what the music do for the person who likes it. I just want the dude to do something for the youth instead of promoting drugs, *** and violence.
When I think about it, I don’t think it’s anything wrong with making a feel good song for the clubs or “Pop” audience. Just don’t let your entire album reflect the same type of music without any “real” content. That’s the one thing you can always count on in a 1223Music Album.
JohnJohn you ought to give the fans a lyrical sample… They deserve a lil bit…
Eve might be your number 1 fan, since she seems to like lyricists =)
“Big Ups to Lil’ Wayne” is that a joke? We should not reward that garbage. A good beat is not enough, Gayzele let me break it down to you like this, is dating a FINE MAN, I’m saying a very fine man that’s extremely stupid, with no job and nothing but looks… would you stick with him?Probably not, thats the same thing lil’ wayne is doing to the fans. He’s finding us a good, fine beat with no content and we’re just stuck on the beat. As a fan of music, we’ve got to want more from the artists. I’m sorry, but if I was younger and not married, I’d take the brains and personality over looks any day. Or in this case, the lyrical content.
And yes AD, us old folks listen to rap music too!
Optimistic, you’re almost starting to make me feel some of your comments, and I resent that j/k.. I like the analogy that you used with that and Pro I agree with you saying it’s all about what the music does for the person, or individual… to an extent. You said it yourself, he consistently promotes drugs, ***, and violence. It’s almost impossible to censor music these days, so I think the Artist has the responsibility to determine what is and isn’t fed to the youth. What do you think?
Are #1-Billboard Rappers even considered artists anymore? If the beat is all that mainstream wants, then it’s the beat maker that made it on the Billboard. The lollipop lyrics are wack. Someone please record a 24-7 lyricist and release this song again–do the beat some justice. Ya dig!
At the end of the day I believe we are responsible for everything we do, music encluded… I mean when you got to take dat call and its your time to explain what you was doing with the time you had Im pretty certain how your music effected people counts but thats just me… in da mean time just do something fo da kids regardless of what you believe.
Pro, Are you gettin that million ready for my kids ;).. hahaahahahaha… lol
