Lil Wayne sentence postponed after threats from prison
Somebody named "Big Rufus" was ready to claim those cute little teeth.
Prison-bound rapper LIL WAYNE has won three more weeks of freedom after a New York judge agreed to postpone his sentencing until after he completes a series of dental surgery procedures.
The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter, Jr., was expected to be handed a one year jail term for weapons possession on Tuesday (09Feb10) - and many felt sure he’d start the sentence straight away.
But Justice Charles Soloman agreed to delay the punishment after Wayne’s lawyer, Stacey Richman, requested extra time so the rapper could go ahead with an operation on his teeth scheduled for Friday (12Feb10) - and have time to recover.
The dental procedure request came after several prison inmates threatened to "knock the bling out of his mouth" according to reports. Lil Wayne will temporarily have his $100k diamond and platinum mouth piece removed during the 1 year prison sentence.
