Rapper does Gospel song just days after smoking weed on video
Religious activist outraged at rapper’s contradictory behavior.
Daz Dillinger, formerly of rap duo The Dogg Pound, will make a cameo appearance in a music video for his mom Dr. Allean Varnado Lang, an evangelist who signed last year with Empty Vessel Music, an independent Atlanta-based label.
Several member of the Baptist community have protested to Daz’s involvement following a video in which the rapper bragged about smoking weed.
Said one member of the congregation, “It’s the wrong kind of example to set for our young people. All kinda’ sinners are welcomed in the house of the Lord, but we can’t glorify that life style especially since this is a project for children”.
The video is for the song “I’m Good,” which Dr. Lang conceptualized around the premise of children who are neglected and written off as lost causes.
