Did Plies get shot?
Nope…but his boyz shot into a crowd and 5 other people got hit. Now he’s gonna’ have to pay up!
Rapper PLIES is facing further legal action in connection with a 2006 Florida nightclub shooting - the victims have amended their lawsuit alleging the hip-hop star has profited from their misery.
Five people were injured during the rapper’s performance in Gainesville, Florida after a fight broke out involving Plies’ entourage, and member of the rappers entourage shot into the crowd.
Plies, real name Algernod Washington, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possession of a concealed weapon, which was found after the shootings, and was sentenced to probation. His brother, Ronell Levatte, served three years in prison for his part in the incident.
The victims of the shooting filed a civil suit against the star in 2008, but they amended the papers and refilled the suit at Alachua County Circuit Court On Wednesday (03Mar10).
They’ve added Levatte to their complaint, as well as Plies’ Big Gates Records label, and allege the rapper has benefited from the incident - referencing the shooting in his lyrics and using it to bolster his hard man reputation, according to the Miami Herald.
