Venus and Serena’s stalker runs nude across court
Tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams encountered and unwelcome sight during the Australian Open.
The sisters were busy playing when a man, naked from the waist down, jumped a security line and pranced around the court before making his way off the playing surface.
Said Serena jokingly of the incident, “I just thought, my eyes, my innocent eyes,”. The tennis star initially thought thought she was seeing things until the man began to grope himself during the match.
Security confirmed the nude streaker had targeted the Williams sisters and was on security’s official “stalker list” as he was already banned from several tennis facilities around Australia.
“In those type of moments, it seems really long,” she said. “It was weird, it was just like, you know, funny and everyone was laughing. I kept thinking ‘OK, I got to stay focused’.”
Australian Open organizers said the man was only on court for 14 seconds, although spectators reportedly said it was closer to a minute.
