THE playboy son of an African dictator has been accused by the US of stealing more than $US100 million from his impoverished country to go shopping for a Malibu mansion, a Gulfstream jet and the late Michael Jackson’s white, crystal-covered glove.
Kelly Osbourne sure holds a grudge.

After a day in which the defense attorney for Dr. Conrad Murray went on the offensive against a key prosecution witness in the physician’s involuntary manslaughter trial, the focus on Friday (October 7) turned to a recording of the doctor’s account of his actions while tending to Michael Jackson on the day the pop icon died.
LOS ANGELES — Jurors in the Michael Jackson case saw autopsy photos of the singer’s body Tuesday as a medical examiner testified that the singer probably could not have given himself the lethal dose of the surgical anesthetic blamed for his death.

At today’s annual Stephen Philbin Awards Luncheon, which recognizes excellence in legal reporting, the L.a. lawyer who got Michael Jackson off on child-molestation charges said he saw the media as his “enemy” in that case. Thomas Mesereau Jr., who sought a gag order in the Jackson trial and fought to keep cameras out of the courtroom, said he was merely protecting the entertainer from the potential for cheap, abusive, salacious, tabloid reporting. “everybody was looking to profit off the carcass of Michael Jackson,” Mesereau said. then he added this advice for the lawyers in the room: “you must win your case with the 12 people [of the jury]. The media counts, but after the verdict, they’re gone.”
Fans who couldn’t snag tickets to the Michael forever tribute concert for Michael Jackson can still land front row seats from the comfort of their own homes.

A paramedic testified earlier that Jackson seemed to have been dead for at least 20 minutes before the ambulance arrived.
Cooper said Murray claimed Jackson had been dehydrated after strenuous concert rehearsals and did not disclose that the singer had been dependent on propofol to sleep for two months.
