PAULA ABDUL is following in the footsteps of talk show queen OPRAH WINFREY after signing a $10M deal for her own TV series on the mogul’s new broadcasting network.

 

But Abdul is preparing to relaunch her small screen career by taping a one-hour pilot episode for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). The program will reportedly feature celebrity guests and people telling inspirational stories in a similar format to the media mogul’s current U.S. chat show.

 

Last week (ends21Feb10), Abdul told reporters: "I’m going back to my roots and doing a TV show that has something to do with my roots."  But Abdul insists she can handle the TV spot. She tells the National Enquirer, "If Ellen DeGeneres can do it…so can I!"
