Serena Williams

Tennis star feels the financial crunch of economic downturn.

Serena Williams, who has earned more than $22 million in career prize money and $10 million a year in endorsements, admits that the current economic downswing has made her slow down when it comes to splurging on expensive items.

In addition, William’s design company temporary suspended production due to the turbulent economy.  Said one production assistant, “She basically told us to put everything on hold…it was purely a business financial decision”.

Williams recently told reporters, “”The bag I’m carrying now is worth $12.  It’s low tide for me. I’m not out there buying crazy things.”

Although Williams is far from going broke, she learned how to manage finances the hard way because, like most celebrities, the talent that made her rich doesn’t teach her how to stay rich.

well i think she’s being smart about it. we dont know how long things are going to stay like this and its best to be cautious of how we spend our money. now she does have more than enough to get by, but she wants to keep it that way! there’s nothing wrong with that lol!!
