Alicia Keys honored…comes out of hiding
ALICIA KEYS is to be honored with the Golden Note accolade at the 22nd annual ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Rhythm & Soul Awards.
The 12-time Grammy Award winner will collect her major prize at an invitation-only event in Los Angeles on 26 June, where the songwriters and publishers of the most performed ASCAP songs on the 2008 R&B/Hip-Hop, Rap and Gospel charts will also be honoured.
Past Golden Note Award recipients have included Jermaine Dupri, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Jay-Z and Lionel Richie.
New ASCAP President Paul Williams says, "Since joining the ASCAP family at the age of 17, Alicia has grown into one of the most highly recognised and influential songwriter/performers of the past decade."
