Agent afraid role could ruin actors image in black community.
Despite fans petitioning on line, ABC has unofficially decided to cancel “Dirty Sexy Money” according to co-star Blair Underwood.
“As far as I’m concerned, we’re not doing any more shows,” says the actor, who played Simon Elder on the series. “ABC officially doesn’t want to use the C-word—canceled—but we’re not on the schedule. I would pretty much say we’re canceled.”
Hollywood agents are buzzing that the show was pulled from the schedule after Underwood refused for his character to play a bi-sexual role.
One agent said that “the show isn’t officially canceled because the station is looking for a replacement but is afraid to alienate viewers”.
Apparently Underwood, who’s often played the “sexual black-man” in a number of films in TV roles was “furious” at the thought of his character being bisexual.
More interestingly, Underwood’s agent is concerned that the role could taint his image as an actor and prevent him from being accepted by black movie goers.
The veteran actor seems to be taking the controversy in stride as he said in a recent statement, “My dad told me I should have something prepared just in case,” Underwood says. ‘If there’s a possibility, be prepared”.

if he had to kiss another man or have a sex scene then i could understand exactly where he is comin from but if he wasnt then i think that was just stupid, he’s an actor and and an actor acts not unless there is some truth in that role???????

I must admit Up until the 20 seconds ittook me to read this crazy ass article, I was a fan of Blair Underwoods.As African Americans we complain that there are no good roles for us in film and televison but then we behave as if we have n common sense. If you are an actor, you act. I watch Dirty Sexy Money faithfully and know from the type of show that it is, that Blair would not hve been asked to Kiss or have sexual relations of any kind with another man. I can say this. I will not be supporting anything that Blair is apart of from now on. AND TO ANSWER THE QUESTION THAT ANYONE MAY HAVE, NO I AM NOT GAY OR BISEXUAL, I am simply an educated African American male that feels as African American we must stop doing to others what has been done to us for so long. Juan you have a point. I really don’t understand why they will not offer openly gay men and women these roles. At first I thought it may have been because of Hollywood obsession with getting big names for higher pay -out @ the box office. I am now leaning toward what might be more of a reality and that is that the movie industries powers that be are more than likely people who are either homophobes or they think the world is not ready for a real honest Gay man/ Women to take on a major role in film either way its a real shame that they apparently think gay people aren’t even fit to play ourselves on film.
