Blige, and handling second unit for David Fincher on the Social Network, hopes to make his feature directing debut on an updated low budget remake of American Psycho. Jones, who was Grammy nominated for his documentary 10 Days out: Blues From the Backroads, is a Fincher protege who pitched the project months ago to Lionsgate, which holds the remake rights. Jones turned in a script about a month ago, but the project has suddenly become buzzed about because it hit the tracking reports that have become the cornerstone of trade reporting. his take was to tap the Bret Easton Ellis novel and turn it into a down and dirty new version that imagines how yuppie serial killer Patrick Bateman would fare in new York today, factoring in how the world has changed since the 2000 film that starred Christian Bale. It’s no secret that John Mayer has had his share of relationship faux pas. although he’s recently kept his private life (and his mouth) quiet, it’s difficult to forget how he described Jessica Simpson as a “sexual napalm” or how he dated and dumped a slew of A-list women like Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift.
The first of two sold out Taylor Swift shows went down in Glendale’s Jobing.com arena Friday night. The shows sold out within minutes, according to Swift, and after seeing the kind of production that goes into brining to life what comes across as rather simple radio pop, it makes sense. Little girls donning tutus with their long hair curled like Swift’s and older women in cowboy boots with Swift hair and dresses that look a little like those in Swift’s videos, it takes less than a second to scan the crowd and realize just how larger than life this 21-year-old singer is to nearly everyone in the 14,000-capacity arena. Her team managed to make a concert that matched those people’s expectations and no one can complain about that.

The 34-year-old singer/songwriter had surgery on Thursday to remove the granuloma (enlarged nodule) just above his vocal cord.

Music legend Tony Bennett released his Duets II album on September 20th, and it features collaborations between the 85-year old singer and a slew of contemporary artists, including John Mayer, Michael Buble, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Josh Groban, Natalie Cole, the late Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, and Lady Gaga.

Since the tragic death of Stevie Ray Vaughan in August 1990, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Joe Bonamassa, even John Mayer have all been championed to fill that elusive role.
Eddie Owen, the man who founded Decatur folk club Eddie’s Attic, is leaving the club for another job, Decatur Metro reports.
Owen, who has been general manager at the club, told Decatur Metro he’ll run a theater in Duluth.
