LOS ANGELES (KABC) — ABC’s “Private Practice” will feature music from Mary J. Blige’s upcoming album during its special two-hour show on Thursday.
“I am thrilled to have my music on ‘Private Practice,’ … especially in these two episodes which are dealing with such important issues,” Blige said in a statement.

Consider “Under the Mistletoe” Justin Bieber’s concept album, of sorts: a sticky-sweet tour of hook-laden R&B music that just happens to focus on Christmas, “Mistletoe” finds Bieber still treating his songwriting with as much care as he would on any standard solo album. some of the gimmicks work (the silky Boyz II Men collaboration “Fa La La”) and some don’t (the Busta Rhymes head-scratcher “Drummer Boy”), but original cuts like “Only Thing I Ever Get for Christmas” and “All I Want is You” are fairly immaculate collections of warm sound beds and impressive singing.
The Producers Guild of America will honor Don Mischer with their 2012 Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television, marking the first time the award has been given to a live-event producer. Mischer will accept the award at the annual Producers Guild Awards on January 21 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Mischer is directing and producing the Oscar telecast again this year, this time with producing partner Brett Ratner.

It isn’t exactly clear why Mary J. Blige thought Rick Ross would give her the love she deserves. True, Rozay showcases his sensitive side in his most recent solo hit, Teflon Don‘s “Aston Martin” music, but he also has automatic weapons piled up on his bedroom floor. It’s probably because, as Blige’s character acknowledges on her collaboration with “Aston Martin” guest Drake, she loves her “Mr. Wrong.” Good thing Blige is at her best searching for a “Real love.”
