Beyonce was announced Tuesday as the first artist confirmed for next year’s Essence Music Festival, which returns to New Orleans July 3, 4 and 5, 2009.
Musical performances are slated for the New Orleans Superdome.

R&B superstar Chris Brown has been recognized with Music Choice’s “Most Demanded” award after locking in 43 million views in a one year time span.
Trailing far behind is Lil’ Wayne whose “Lollipop” music video totaled 12 million views.
I can see Kanye crying because he didn’t win this award.
Not Amy’s fault
After a year of hospitalizations and health issues surrounding Amy Winehouse, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil has stepped forward to take blame for her drug addiction.
“I dragged Amy into drugs and without me there is no doubt that she would never have gone down that road,” Blake said. “I introduced her to heroin, crack cocaine and self-harming. I feel more than guilty.”

Apparently that’s how Whitney Houston feels about getting back together with ex-husband Bobby Brown, nixing reports earlier in the week that said they were going to do just that.
This weekend Houston issued a statement denying the rumors of a reunion with Bobby Brown calling the reports “a complete fabrication.”
Why would she issue a statement in the first place? I heard that Lil’ Ray-J got jealous.
