After suicide attempt, the former child star turns to religion.
Gary Coleman, who is notoriously privacy, chose to settle in a small-town in Utah to avoid the bright lights of the paparazzi and nosey fans.
But since going through a rocky romance, a prescription pill overdose, and run-ins with the police, Coleman has found another reason to be in Utah.
After Coleman’s attempted suicide where he claimed “I wanted to die”, members of the Utah based Mormon Church began studying biblical scripture with the former child star.
Since then, Coleman has reportedly attended services routinely and has built a congregation of supporters who “preach and teach the gospel”.
One former co-star and friend claims that Coleman “seems to be happier and that’s all that matters”. Several Utah residents claim to have seen the actor “sharing scriptures” and inviting neighbors to church.
