Hannah Montana topless…

Posted April 28, 2008 by JJSaidIt Staff

Miley Cyrus, the star of the Disney’s Hannah Montana show, has apologized for semi-nude pictures that will appear in an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair magazine. According to Miley, “”I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.”

I have hope that she is not the next Britney, Paris or Lindsay because I’ve seen interviews with her and she seems to have a descent head on her shoulders. My concern is with her parents.

Some type of warning light should have gone off in her parents’ head when they were asked to allow their 15-year-old daughter to take her bra off for a photo shoot.

I’ve had a chance to see the controversial photo, and it’s definitely not as bad as the media attention it’s garnering, but you can’t escape the fact that she only 15 years old.

I’m not buying it. At 15 I knew good and well what it meant to take my shirt off! Remember even 15-year-old stars want to KEEP their name in the media, even the Disney Channel girl. Now everyone’s going to be trying to get their hands on a copy of Vanity fair. And JohnJohn you might not think it’s bad, but for a DISNEY CHANNEL PHENOM, wearing too short of a skirt is bad. She’s 15, she shouldn’t be into any kind of topless “art”!

I completely disagree. That photo should be praised not torn down because of stuck up other girls that are giving everyone a bad name. She is not in some **** pose with her mouth or legs all open wide. She is just sitting there with her back showing. *gasp* can you really see her back?? oh my we shouldn’t see her back… please…Come on.. all you that are upset at her I think you are just jealous because at 15 you couldn’t have that kind of talent. She is an amazing young women with pure artistic talent. Maybe not so much her voice (but neither did her dad.. I still love you Billy) She has made a great name for herself… be happy and optimistic for her not judgemental and pestimistic…..

Here’s one topic where I believe Optomistic and I see eye to eye… kinda. At 15 yrs old her parents shouldn’t have let her do that photo shoot. Period! I think JohnJohn put the emphasis where it needed to be… on the parents. It is their job to guide her in her “hollywood” lifestyle. The two of them made a poor decision. Having said that, I don’t think it’s anything wrong with the picture or what it displays. It’s clean. It’s tasteful, and it’s not an embarrassment to Miley per se. I guess when it’s all said and done, I partly agree with both of you.

RS how could you say such a thing. She’s 15 years old and doing a topless photo shoot where she’s trying to look seductive. Its wrong on every level imaginable. The magazine is wrong, her parents are wrong, and the perverts that are watching it are wrong. If she was 18 then I wouldn’t have a problem. And AD I can’t believe you finally agreed with Optimistic on a subject. :-)

See, AD and I are coming around. I think RS is like a Mother Teresa and that’s a good thing. She searches for the good in the world. But I think too much mother teresa is bad for you. She’s 15 and like AD since she’s not an adult, her dad who’s always around needed to step up and say, this ain’t right. At 15, there’s no such thing at going topless and calling it artwork. I’m not saying she’s like Paris and all of those crazy girls, but she needs a kid check right now to prevent Paris tendencies in the future. And I don’t think we’ve judged her, just like you we want to see her succeed and at 15 she doesn’t have to go that route to do it.

I think one of my Hip-Hop Mentors J-Spade AKA Cool Breeze stated it best in one of his raps…

“They got me stressin, treadin life like i’m treadin water
I got a toddler daughter, I gotta be my kids father
Cuz if I don’t, she’ll meet them cats from broken homes
that got that N!gger Syndrome, pedofilin in the school zones”

Ultimately just sayin he has to make sure that he protects his daughter from the corruption of the morld. That’s the responsibility that Billy Ray Cyrus must understand that he has.

I am suprised actually that I am the only one on here that thinks it was not really that bad. Many of the poeple I know don’t think it was either. But I like hearing all of your opinions. I will agree that at 15 you should not be doing “topless” work. But to me this is not really topless. Its like wearing a strapless shirt. So many girls and stars that age are wearing tubetops and things why did this get so blown out of porportion? I am interested to hear what you all think…

I think the “picture” comments are blown out of proportion, I don’t think the parenting comments are though. If there was gonna be a picture that came out, this would be it. The point is parenting should have never allowed this topic to be posted.

Hey RS- I don’t think it’s that bad either. I think it’s a nice photo. But then again, I like Brooke Shields too and she took a lot of heat for the movie “Pretty Baby”. How do we know that her parents weren’t there protecting her? Maybe they are the ones that insisted on the blanket instead of bare hands like a lot of the other vanity fair covers. And besides, if any of you have ever bought your daughter a bikini then you are having them wear even less fabric than little Miley has on in that pic. And if you are worried about pedofiles— they are usually into children and their innocense NOT their sexuality. Those sickos would be turned on regardless of how much she was covered up.

Nothing with the picture makes me think potential Lindsey/Paris/Britney. After hearing her past interviews about strong family values it’s hard to see this photo meant anything “dirty.” If Britney posed in this photo at age 15, I would definitely agree that this is a red flag because Britney’s life screamed sexual attention; the opposite of Miley Cyrus’ career. In 3 years we shall see who she plans to be.

And I will say it again, Who the hell is this girls manager? And really, why the hell would he let her mess with his money,(disney does pay well)
I swear these folks need to get it together?

Well all of you raise great points. I am a mother and I believe at 15 she should not be posing topless. I would feel the same way if she were a professional model. As parents we should set standards for our children so that they may make good decisions in the future. I do realize that Children don’t always listen to their parents(that’s why I was pregnant in high school) but I learned that not listening had great consequences. This photo shoot could lead to full blown nudity in the future especially in her line of work and with the type of people that would likely surround her. Her parents should be teaching her that she does not have to stoop to certain levels to maintane her star status. Just look at Ms. Raven Simone, she has never done this type of photo and she will be the first to say that her parents would not allow it. She is very successful on every level, a true teen/tween role model and has not been involved in any type of scandal. As a parent, this is the type of young lady that I would want my daughter to look up to. By the way RS there are a lot of talented people and I don’t deny that Miley has some, but it don’t take much TALENT to pose with your top off.

That’s a real comment Face. I feel you on the “Talent” Tip.. I think she looks a lil trashy on the pic myself.. I kind of like her in the Topic pic JohnJohn posted.

I mean no harm by this Face, but I am guessing you have not done a lot of modeling. It seems so easy so sit there and look cute but its actually a lot harder then you think. No for some pics you can tell the girl just stands there with her top off and everyone is so busy starring at her chest it doesn’t matter that she has no talent. No so in this pic, it takes talent to pull off the entire look she gives off in that pic. When you look at the pic it has a lot of character and that is talent. About Raven, she couldn’t pull something like this off and she knows it. She is great at where she is now so she settles there. Now… no you don’t need LOTS of talent to pose but I will argue that you need some. Ask any photographer….

Come on now, at 15 years old most of you on this website were probably already having ***. Like somebody else said, whats the difference between this photo and some of the swim suits you see at every beach or pool. The swim suits are actually worse. And you know what else, she’s not even cute. At least Britney was cute at 15.
