michael vick thumb NFL team writes letter to Mike Vick in prison despite no contact rule

Team owners disobey mandate in attempt to sign former Pro Bowler.

Michael Vick, who is serving a 23-month prison term for financing a dog-fighting conspiracy said that he expects to resume his career after serving his sentence.

Despite having a tarnished reputation and an uphill battle to be reinstated by the NFL, reports are circulating that at least 6 professional teams have contacted the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback via letters since he was incarcerated.

As one investigator put it, “The letters would not be an issue if the NFL had not instituted a “no-contact” rule.  These teams knowing violated a league mandate”.

Several team attorney’s have appealed the potential sanctions claiming their clients contacted Vick “as a friend, as an individual…not acting on behalf of an NFL team”.

Since no official sanction has been awarded, the situation is expected to be shelved until after the SuperBowl to avoid being a distraction to the league.
