Civil rights activist are calling for the Congressman’s resignation.
A candidate for the Republican National Committee chairmanship included a song titled “Barack the Magic Negro” on a CD that he sent to committee members as a Christmas gift.
The song, set to the tune of “Puff the Magic Dragon,” was first played on conservative political commentator Rush Limbaugh’s radio show.
Tennessee Republican Chip Saltsman, who created the CD, said the song was clearly intended as a joke.
An Obama supporter described the songs as, “just another way of calling him a “Nigger”, they can’t get away with that.”
The Obama camp has yet to comment on the song.
