Red carpet moment almost gets ugly.

The quick witted and often hot tempered comedian Whoopi Goldberg had an “aw-hell-naw” moment on the red carpet at the New York Times Art and Leisure Weekend.

During a photo opportunity, that included Goldberg and co-stars from the  “The View”, several paparazzi were vying for the ladies attention.  According to witnesses, one member of the paparazzi became agitated when he couldn’t get Goldberg to look in his direction.

In a feeble attempt to get her attention he yelled, “Whoopi, why do you always play the ugly-duckling in all your movies.”

As one fan put it, “Almost instantly everyone just got quiet,” and as though she was on the set of The Color Purple, Goldberg pointed her ring and index finger at the paparazzi and sternly said, “Everything you done to me…I already done to you.”

Instantly the crowd’s tension was released and everyone broke into an anxious laughter.  The paparazzi ultimately got Goldberg’s attention and the photo he wanted, but was quickly removed from the paparazzi line after Goldberg and other “View” co-stars exited the photo area.
