Evander Holyfield going bankrupt…again
Former boxing champion EVANDER HOLYFIELD is facing foreclosure on his Georgia mansion, according to a new report.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution claims the sports star’s 109-room estate in Fayette County is due to be auctioned off on 7 July (09) after Holyfield defaulted on a $10 million loan used to help pay for the lavish property.
The home, which boasts an Olympic-sized swimming pool, bowling alley and movie theatre, costs more than $1 million a year to maintain – but Holyfield is refusing to sell off the pad.
His former accountant Sam Gainer says, "To attack that house in any way, or suggest he get rid of it… that’s just not going to fly with him. That’s his trophy, his symbol of success."
It’s the second of Holyfield’s homes to face the auction block – another Fayette property is also under foreclosure with debts on that house amounting to $216,000.
