Evander Holyfield filed a protest with the World Boxing Association (WBA) following his controversial 12 round loss to Russian champion Nikolay Valuev last weekend.

Valuev defeated Holyfield on points in a bout last Saturday in Switzerland, but members of Holyfield’s camp claim that at least 2 of the ring judges had ties to a well known Russian mafia organization and therefore “fixed” the fight.

Holyfield spoke about the protest, “We’re filing a protest that basically says, ‘we want you to overturn this.’ I just want what’s rightfully mine. I didn’t lose. I won.”
