Hip-hop superstars JAY-Z and EMINEM hit the stage together on Monday night for a rare performance in Los Angeles in front of a star-studded crowd.

The rappers joined forces for the launch of the new video game DJ Hero, the beatmaking spin off of the popular Guitar Hero, treating guests like Leonardo DiCaprio, Pete Wentz and Tyrese Gibson to a special show with a DJ set by Travis Barker and Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein.

Jay-Z performed a rousing medley of his biggest hits and walked off stage to wild applause before returning seconds later, claiming he’d "forgotten something".

The beat dropped for the duo’s 2001 track Renegade and Eminem ran out to trade verses with Jay-Z.

The Without Me hitmaker then took over the stage and played a brief set of songs from his new album Relapse, before closing the performance with his Oscar-winning track Lose Yourself.
