Queen Latifah’s robbery was a setup
Hotel employees coordinated $10,000 jewelry heist.
Queen Latifah and her entourage left Tobago yesterday after a New Years robbery that put a damper on her holiday.
On Sunday, thieves broke into two villas occupied by Queen Latifah and her entourage. They made off with a $200 cell phone and jewelry worth $10,000.
The rapper, singer, model and actress expressed relief that none of her entourage was injured during the heist.
Investigators have focused their attention on 5 resort employees suspected of developing an elaborate scheme to steal the Queen’s possession while she was at a scheduled event.
Apparently, the Grand Larceny crime was scheduled weeks in advance.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Nadhir Khan said of the robbery: “While investigations continue into the incident investigators are following every possible lead as the case remains open, and I would not jump to any conclusions at this time.”
Latifah was also interviewed by police on Saturday night and was said be “extremely upset” but cooperated fully with authorities.
