Somebody please shoot Madea

Tyler Perry’s new comedy movie MADEA GOES TO JAIL has shot to the top of the box office chart.

Congratulations to Tyler Perry who enjoyed a huge opening weekend takings in $41.1 million with Madea’s run-ins with the law, scoring Perry’s biggest ever opening weekend.

First of all, I’ve followed Tyler Perry for years since my mom collected boot-leg copies of his plays and of course I recognize Perry’s talent and applaud his success.

With that being said, watching Madea has become a lame and tiresome experience.  How much longer can we put up with the same storylines and the same over-the-top jokes from this character?

Although I will continue to support Perry, I had decided this was the last $15 “Madea” will receive from me.  Am I the only one that feels this way or am I just “hatin” way to hard?

I agree to some degree, I really think he needs to be more creative and expand on his characters depth or try to do something totally different on the big screen.

On the other hand, Madea is still bringing in the bacon (41.1 m) so if its not broke, why fix it?

Yeah John-John stop hatin on Madea it’s funny, she’s funny. I didn’t get to make the movie this weekend because of busy pre-scheduled days but I will be checkin it out in the next couple of days. John-John, “Don’t be hatin’”

As I went to the opening of the movie friday I stated the same thing to my college friends. Not that Madea isnt funny because she definitely is but its time for Tyler Perry to expand different types of Characters for instance House of Payne is a great show, very funny, and I dont believe Madea is apart of every show. “For the record” Diary of a Mad Black women-The Movie was his best movie so far. Which he would pattern more of his movies after that one. Nevertheless Tyler Perry is extremely talented and has inspired me in more ways then one.

AS MADEA WOULD SAY—HELL TO THE NAW, YOU AIN’T THE ONLY ONE HATIN. PEOPLE ALWAYS WANT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THEY LOSE PATIENCE WITH THE SAME OLD THANG. ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLES.
SO IF YOU’RE TIRED OF HER, DON’T WATCH HER ANY MORE.
BUT SERIOULSY, I LIKE MADEA. MUST OF US KNOW OR HAVE KNOWN SOMEONE SORTA OF LIKE HER. THAT’S WHAT MAKES HER CHARACTER SO APPEALING TO SOME OF US. TYLER PERRY IS A VERY TALENTED MAN, AND I KNOW HE HAS A LOT OF OTHER MOVIE IDEAS BESIDES MADEA. LETS JUST WAIT AND SEE. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE A MOVIE FOR JUST MADEA, HER BROTHER JOE AND HIS FRIENDS, MR. BROWN AND CORA. THAT WOULD BE ONE HILARIOUS MOVIE.

I saw the movie today and of course I love Madea, but I left feeling like somethings were lacking!!

For the record.. “Why Did I Get Married?” was soooo good!

The movie took too long for Madea to go to Jail. I was lookin forward to see her work some serious comedy in the big house, but it was only for a short minute. Yeah, I’m Madea-ed out.
