Using social media as an engine, the promotion draws attention to Minority Health Month by driving consumers to popular black-owned, family-style restaurants in 23 markets, where they can count on meals that are both delicious and healthy. the promotion also ushers Madea’s huge fan base into theaters nationwide during opening weekend, which begins good Friday, April 22 — and encourages them to spread the word. Matthew Fox has laid low since that last devastating shot of “LOST.” if you’re the kind of fan who wants to see him as nothing but Jack Shepherd, that’s great, but we kind of hoped to see him kicking butt or making us swoon in some action or romance.

The Cape Cod Connection Team is made up of five bowlers with a sixth man (who fills in) traveling each week to Wonder Bowl from guess where?
They all live in different towns from the Upper Cape Cod region and have been bowling at Wonder Bowl for two years.
Tyler Perry has yet to crack the Oscar ceiling, but the multi-hyphenate took home the gold at the NAACP Image Awards Friday night (March 4), winning Best Director and Best Picture for his “For Colored Girls. the flick also nabbed a statue for co-star Kimberly Elise, who won for Best Supporting Actress.

The singer-actress has signed a production deal with Lionsgate, the studio that released three Tyler Perry films in which she starred.
FOR COLORED GIRLS – the film adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 Obie Award-winning play, for Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide when The Rainbow is Enuf – will open in the US on November 5th 2010. no doubt to a thunderous level of buzz, as is the hallmark for film director and writer Tyler Perry (Diary Of A Mad Black Woman, Why Did I Get Married?). Not just because the all-woman lead cast is as A-list as black Hollywood gets. But also because the music from and inspired by the film, compellingly emotive, does such a novel thing by placing some of modern soul and R&B music’s forerunners and its latter day torch bearers side by side one another, all of them performing brand new and unreleased tracks. Included in the line up are Nina Simone, Estelle, Janelle Monàe, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Lalah Hathaway andSouth African singer Zaki Ibrahim, on whom the significance of sharing such company is not lost. Says Zaki enthusiastically, “I’m excited and a bit geeked that I get to be in line with such amazing musicians and legends. Nina Simone has always been an inspiration.
