Carmelo…
Earlier this week Carmello Anthony, the All-Star forward for the Denver Nuggets, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The 23-year-old multi-millionaire has had his brush with incidents that have caused me to question his character.
We overlooked it when Carmelo made a cameo appearance in a gang video that talked about killing “snitches”. We believed him when authorities found weed in his luggage at the airport and he said it didn’t belong to him. We forgave him when he got into a fist-to-fist brawl during a New York Knicks basketball game.
Now he has done it again. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to see a pattern. I think he has earned a new nickname and from now on, I’m going to call him “Can’t Get Right”

I always have to look back at my life when I see these types of things and say, “he’s twenty three though.” He should be held to the standard, but based off of his environment and where he comes from, it doesn’t surprise me. He only has a character problem because he’s spotlighted. Think about how much more trouble other 23 year olds get in that aren’t in the NBA. He’s really just a normal kid.

I was going to Syracuse, which would have been his sophomore year and then his had to go to the NBA. Dang, we should’ve been together. lol. Naw, but he’s just like anybody else. I know many of you and me have drank a few drinks and drove home thinking we were straight. We just didn’t get stopped by the cops. I’m sure there’s a cop always waiting to catch a brother like Melo slipping. But I’m gone be praying for him for more reasons than one. I’ll pray that he gets it together and also that he shaves. I don’t like that lil’ dirty look he got going in that picture.

AD:I feel you to an extent. Its like he has one foot in the hood and the other food in corporate America and as long as that’s the case he’ll continue to get tripped up. At some point he gotta’ get it together because…”those who are given much, much will be expected”!
