Jennifer Hudson ask fans not to cry for her
JENNIFER HUDSON has urged fans to stop shedding tears over the gruesome triple murder of her family last year because it makes her uncomfortable.
The Oscar winner’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason, were found shot dead at their home in Chicago, Illinois on 24 October. The singer/actress’ seven-year-old nephew, Julian King - son of sister Julia - was also killed; his body was found in an abandoned car three days later.
Julia’s estranged husband, William Balfour, has pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree murder and home invasion.
Hudson bounced back from the tragedy in February, returning to the limelight just over three months after the slayings.
The 27-year-old insists she is coping well and appreciates the well wishes from fans, although she is unnerved when people try to comfort her with a hug when she’s out and about.
She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "The other day this lady came up to me and got really close to me, and I thought, ‘What is it that makes people want to… embrace me?’ I don’t like it when people get all emotional. I don’t want you to cry.
"But to see that love from fans is one of the most beautiful things."
She adds, "This is what I love to do, and I hate to sit still. I have been active for the past four or five years, and to be working like that and then to just stop and all you hear is the clock ticking … That will drive you crazy."
