TMZ gets backlash for posting Rihanna picture
TMZ is defending their decision to post a battered Rihanna against speculation that they were given the photo by someone in the Los Angeles Police Department.
Head honcho Harvey Levin will not reveal how TMZ obtained the photo, but says he believes it was not an image taken by the LAPD. “And we still are not convinced it is,” he told a news reporter.
The LAPD has launched its own internal investigation and said the image “has the appearance of one taken during an official domestic-violence investigation.”
Nevertheless, several privacy activist groups have filed complaints with the FCC claiming the organization is “socially irresponsible and unethical in gathering news stories” and have even threaten legal action if it’s found that the Rihanna photo was taken from the LAPD.
It has been long rumored that TMZ has paid insiders working in every police department of each major city, and is willing to pay thousands for one photo.
The celebrity gossip site reportedly paid $62,500 for the photo, and we all starred in disbelief at what Chris Brown allegedly did to her. In some ways we are all guilty of being nosey, so should TMZ be punished for their actions?

Hell and us gawking at it is almost watching a car accident you wanna turn your head but you just can’t and besides we ain’t no big company that knows the law and know what they doin is wrong.
