Oprah finally learns to share

Posted March 9, 2009 by JJSaidIt Staff

Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey

For nine years Oprah has been the only person featured on the covers of O’ Magazine until she recently shared April’s cover with Michelle Obama.

Now if only I can get Oprah to share some of that money with me.

She may not have been sharing the cover of this magazine with others and I fully understand her logic for this, but her O at Home has had other’s on the cover before.

Personally, I get tired of seeing every celebrity who is working for now on the cover of every major magazine. I’m glad that she has Mrs. Obama on the cover.

She’s been sharing her money with the right people for a long time. Just because she is wealthy does not mean that she is stingy like the other wealthy people, she has influence which changes lives and inspires, they have influence which destroys lives and only enriches their own lives.

oprah shares her wealth of knowledge with her viewers everyday. i’m a HUGE oprah fan and i’m drawn to her insurmountably; perhaps its because we share the same birth date or her gifted ability to address issues and make sense of it. she is and continues to be an influential powerhouse in the wonderful world of media.

i think its a symbolic move for ms. winfrey to allow her first shared cover to be with a woman of the same phenomenal prowess. an issue featuring our firsts….african-american female billionaire and first lady. one word…priceless.

I LOVE Oprah, but as a magazine aficionado I think it is too narcissistic of Ms Winfrey to have herself on every issue.

Don’t you think it will be far more interesting to see her take on how O, The Oprah Magazine captures our (African-American) culture in print?
